Morning sightseeing of Old Delhi takes you to the magnificent Red Fort, - a marvel in red sandstone, built on the banks of River Yamuna by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Visit Raj Ghat (memorial to Mahatma Gandhi), Jama Masjid, - The largest mosque in India. Drive past Chandi Chowk, once an imperial avenue of Mughal Royalty which today is the busiest commercial area of the city. Walk through Chandni Chowk to savor the ambience of an oriental bazaar
Afternoon visit the 12th century Qutab Minar, gracefully hand-carved for its entire height of 234ft, and the iron pillar, which has withstood the ravages of time and not rusted even after 1500 years. Visit the mausoleum of emperor Humayun – a forerunner of the Mughal style of architecture and the imposing modern Lakshminarayan temple. Drive past the India Gate (war memorial dedicated to the lives of laid down by the Indian soldiers), the president's residence - formerly the Viceroy's Palace, parliament House and the Secretariat buildings, - an interesting blend of the Victorian and 20th century architecture.

Morning drive to Sattal and on arrival check-in at the hotel. Sattal or Sat Tal (Hindi for "seven lakes") is an interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes situated in the Lower Himalayan Range near Bhimtal, a town of the Nainital district in Uttarakhand.
During the British Raj, the area had a tea plantation, one of four in the Kumaon area at that time. The lakes sit at an altitude of 1370 metres below lush orchards in the Mehragaonvalley. Set amongst dense forests of oak and pine trees, Sattal is one of the few unspoiled and unpolluted freshwater biomes in India. These lakes are a paradise for migratory birds. It is home to a few camps being operated mostly by local people catering to tourists looking for outdoor vacations. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast excursion to Nainital (25 Kms). Nainital is lake resort set at a height of 1938 metres in a beautiful world valley. Surrounded by seven hills, the sparkling waters of a natural lake make it a gem among hill resorts. Set around a tal or lake, this small town with cottage-like houses and steep mountains covered with green forests is one of the most sought-after summer destinations of India.
Visit Snow View - At the top, a close up view of Naina Devi (7816m) which was, as the old brass plate here tells you, 'the highest mountain in the British empire'. Naina Devi was India's highest peak until Sikkim (and thus Kanchenjunga) was absorbed into the country.
Naina Peak - Known as the China peak this peak is the highest point in Nainital. From here Nainital appears as a bowl. You can walk or take ponies to the peak Hanuman Grahi - This place is of religious importance. Situated at a height of 1951 meters this place was established by Baba Neem Kiroli.
A very beautiful Hanuman mandir is at the top. Naina lake - This attribute lake is said to be one of the emerald green eyes of Shiva's wife, Sati (naina is Sanskrit for eye). When Sati's father failed to invite Shiva to a family sacrifice, she burnt herself to death in protest. Shiva gathered the charred remains in his arms and proceeded to engage in a cosmic dance, which threatened to destroy the world. To terminate the dance, Vishnu chopped up the body into pieces, and the remains were scattered across India. The modern Naina Devi Temple at the northern end of the lake is built over the precise spot where the eye is believed to have failen.Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast drive to Ramgarh and on arrival check-in at the hotel. Ramgarh is a small hill station and tourist destination on the way to Mukteshwar in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. This place is rich in orchards. An unobstructed view of the snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas from this place can be seen. The place was once the cantonment of the English army.
The famous poets Rabindra Nath Tagore and social worker Narain Swami had established their ashrams over here. There is also a library dedicated to famous writer Mahadevi Varma, who got the idea of writing Lachma, the famous story, in Ramgarh.
Afternoon visit Mukteshwar. Mukteshwar gets its name from an 350-year-old temple to Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, situated atop the highest point in the town, on the veterinary institute's campus. Close to it lie the overhanging cliffs, locally known as Chauli-ki-Jali, used for rock climbing and rappelling, with an excellent view of the valleys below.
Mukteshwar is the abode of a saint - Shri Mukteshwar Maharaj ji - who lived at the Top Cottage Temple where his samadhi is. One of his disciples, Swami Sanshudhanand ji, now stays there. The whole temple complex is a Tapovan and an ideal place for meditation. Return to Ramgarh for overnight stay.
After breakfast drive to Kausani and on arrival check-in at the hotel. Kausani is located 52 km north of Almora. The altitude of this place is about 1890 m and offers a 350 km view of the There are very few places in the Himalayas which can compare with the beauty of Kausani - a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendour and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. Kausani lies atop the ridge at an altitude of around 1890 m amidst dense pine trees overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garurand Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other on Almora-Bageshwar-Didihat Highway. Mahatma Gandhi called this place the 'Switzerland of India', due to similarity in landscape.
Afternoon visit 'Anashakti Ashram', - a quiet and revered place where Mahatma Gandhi spent his some days and wrote his commentary of Anashkti Yog. Pant Museum is another place of importance, this is the place where the famous poet of Hindi literature, Sumitranandan Pant was born. This place is preserved in its original ancestral form and served as a reference library on him.
Lakshmi Ashram is one kilometre away from the Kausani, and is a center run by Kumauni women and dedicated for social service and upliftment of women. Gandhiji's disciple, Sarlaben (Kaitherine Heileman) spent her life here doing social service and established Anashakti Ashram. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast visit Almora. Almora (5,417 feet) is located on a ridge at the southern edge of the Kumaon Hills of the Himalaya range. In the shape of a horse saddle shaped hillock, it is surrounded by thick forests of pine and fir trees. Flowing alongside the city are rivers of Koshi, (Kaushiki), and Suyal (Salmale). The snow capped Himalayas can be seen in the background. Almora got its name from "Kilmora" a short plant found nearby region. During olden days people living near Almora plug Kilmora plant for washing the utensils of "Katarmal Temple". Soon the people bringing Kilmora were called Kilmori and later "Almori". So the place from where Almori comes came to be known as "Almora" Overnight at the hotel.
